New Series on Sundays and Wednesdays

There are many ways to describe a Christian and even more ways to explain what that means but one of the simplest and direct definitions is "Servant". Each and ever one of us that have accepted The sacrifice that Jesus made on our behalf is to be a servant. Jesus Himself said that if you desire to be the greatest in heaven then you will be a servant to all. Join us on Sundays as we'll take a look at the "Heart of a Servant."

Eph. chapter 2 teaches that each and every one of use has not only been created but that we have been created with a purpose, 1) to know and follow Christ 2) To be used in a radical way by Him. He has not called us to a task in which He has not equipped us. The Gifts of The Holy Spirit enable a believer to serve the Lord and build up the body of Christ. The apostle Paul said that we are not to be ignorant of our gifts but find out what they are and to use them. Join us on Wed. nights as we begin a series in which we will take a look at "The gifts of the Holy Spirit."

Love in Action - Forgive

"Love in Action" is going to be a monthly challenge that will help you begin to live out your faith. This month Cody laid out the challenge of FORGIVENESS. If we will not forgive others how can we accept forgiveness? This month find someone in your life that either needs to be forgiven or needs to hear an apology and hopefully will give forgiveness. We can not forgive in our hearts alone... it must be part of our lives... put your Love into Action. If you take up this challenge and the Lord does something cool write a comment or find Cody and share it with Him. We are praying for you all!!!

The Heart of Worship

Hey guys, have you ever gotten to a place in your walk were things seem "normal." Often times we get moving so fast that we no longer see the depth of who our God is our the value of the gifts He has given us. I believe with all my heart that worship is a gift from God that we should be be driven to partake of, it is one of those things that we should look forward to with excitement and anticipation. Be sure and sign up as we get together, slow down, and take a look at "The Heart of Worship." You can sign up in the youth room or on the church web site. I am looking forward to seeing you there!

1 Cor. 11:1 Imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.
Authority is not just power but it is power with the ability to have influence. Jesus told His disciples that they had "authority" over the power of the enemy (luke 10). The Holy Spirit has empowered us to resist the enemy and to influence a lost generation. Power without influence is useless. Please understand and know that we, followers of Christ, have been called to not just have power but that through the Authority of the Holy Spirit we have been given the ability to influence and bring to life a dying world. Are you involved in life or just floating along enjoying the view? There is no one excluded... You have the ability to influence someone for Christ...
You are leading someone, that's a fact, the question is where are you taking them? May your life mirror that of Paul's when he said imitate me just as I imitate Christ. If you follow Jesus, those following you will as well. Stay strong and walk in the authority that God has given to you. Resist the enemy and influence your world!!! I am praying for you!!!

James 1:22 "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves."

I don't think that i have ever seen a magician surprised by one of his own acts. Though he may be tricking or deceiving his audience there is never a moment when he doesn't know what he is doing. How gnarly is it that James tells us that if we know the Word of God, we know what we both should and should not , we hear the truth and do not do it we have deceived ourselves. It isn't Satan or the enemy... it's us. If you have heard often the truth of the Gospel and the Word of God and continue to remain a hearer only and do not apply it to your life be very careful, for you are tricking yourself.

One last thought; Some might say, "No way, no one does that", my question to you is...what made James write that down... more importantly, what caused the Holy Spirit to have James write that down? Was there just a blank spot left on the page that needed to be filled in with something or... where there people, are there people that continue to be hearers of the Word but do nothing with it? God's heart is that you would not be deceived... but its your choice, apply the Word and watch what happens. - Praying for you all!!!

What's the Deal with Dating?

One of the most abused and misunderstood blessings from our Creator is the ability to have a relationship with someone. Friend to friend, brother to sister, boyfriend to girlfriend or husband to wife, so often we, the next generation, continue to stumble through life giving into temptation after temptation and falling short of what God desires... Why? Could it be that we have simply lost sight of God's will and purpose for relationships... especially in dating and marriage?

I know what i want to say about dating, especially dating as a youth, but i also know that each person must come to their own understanding and appreciation for dating and marriage. Our prayer for you is that your idea looks and awful lot like God's purpose. Over the next few weeks we are going to lay out God's will and intent for relationships and it is there that you must begin to assemble and differentiate the good from the bad, the acceptable from the unacceptable. Please ask the Lord to show you what He wants for your life!!! If you are not able to join us on Sunday's you can check out the notes and audio teaching by clicking the link on the top right of this page... "DevidingDeWord".

Luke 11:3 "Give us day by day our daily bread."

In teaching His disciples how to pray Jesus petitioned not for the needs of next year or even tomorrow but for the day. Goals are good and vision for the future is necessary however if we live days, weeks and months beyond we will never see what God has given us today. What are your needs, your concerns, your questions what is your calling? God does not want to wait but desires to be active now... today. Day by day HE will meet your needs... be in prayer for it is there that the Lord both hears and answers our hearts greatest fears and uncertainties. He is in today... are you?

Being a Light.

Hey guys... I just wanted to update you and let you know what the Lord has done with what you donated at our Christmas Party last month. Many people will be blessed and reached with the hope of the Gospel as well as food, clothing and tools to help them live life as they are persecuted for their faith in Christ. With what you donated we were able to send 2 pairs of chickens (which will be able to produce more chickens that can be sold or used for dinner... they also lay approx. 480 eggs per year) 2 pairs of rabbits (Rabbits can reproduce themselves up to 40 times a year... crazy amount of food or income). You also paid for 10 children to hear the gospel in their own language at a VBS in their own village, 3 Bibles (Both Old and New Testament), 3 instruments for those leading worship and 200 gospel tracts. Please be praying for those that face persecution for their faith in Jesus. Continue to be a light both to your community as well as the world. ACTS 1:8

Lam. 3:22-23 Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They (His mercies) are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

This is potentially one of the most amazing verses in the Bible if it is understood correctly. Think about the last time you held a grudge against someone... maybe even yourself. Isn't it crazy how we feel justified and entitled at times to harbor bitterness when, if we were honest, it is quite the opposite of what God desires for our lives. When you read these verses something about God's heart is shown yet it is so easy to miss! "They (His mercies) are new every morning"... according to this God holds no grudges. Every time that the sun comes up God has cleared the sleight of all our failures and shortcomings. Every morning Jesus Christ looks upon each of us with hope, excitement, joy and purpose... One last thought, If there is anyone who would be entitled to withhold mercy it would be God, the only perfect and holy one that was slain though innocent so that we might have the opportunity to accept His gift of eternal life. However He seems to be the only one that extends to us an unfailing love and renewed mercy every day. Know that God is not disgusted or tiered of you but has looked upon you in this new day with a new and eternal love regardless of yesterdays mistakes... don't miss out on what Jesus wants to because we do not understand who He is, run to Him for He is waiting for you and wants you just as you are!

John 1:40-41 "One of the two who heard John speak, and followed HIM (Jesus) was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah" (Which is translated, the Christ).

We don't hear near as much about Andrew throughout the rest of John's Gospel much less the Bible... however Peter has a great deal of influence both upon the other disciples as well as the early church. We so often read and consider Peter's triumphs as well as short comings and can be encouraged and amazed at how God used him in the book of Acts while Andrew seems to be missing... though he was not. It is interesting that Peter began to follow Jesus because his brother, Andrew, shared with him. His roll great or small, seen or unseen, effected the rest of his brothers life and ministry as well as the establishment of the NT churches. Don't hesitate to share with those whom you know about the Christ... Jesus. You never know what might happen or the influence you may have... after all Andrew was "just" his brother.
